The third book ordered for my returning venture to trying to keep my own horses trims up to date. I am very pleased with all three and actually recommend all three-as they communicate differently-and the pictures are different, and what doesn't hit you in the nose in one-may jump out at you in another.As stated in the Novzorov book review-I also have purchased some power tools to help me- as I do not have the hand or back strength to keep all four of mine trimmed and ride them too! :)In my case-all the tools I purchased (A Ryobi cordless sander, an Electric Hoof Knife-with several discs-of which I have only had to use the heavier sander), a curved rasp from Star Ridge, and my old nippers...have got us back on track, without lameness or tenderness which they all experienced every time the farrier came-despite my begging him not to take so much...all at the cost of one and a half of his visits...a good investment if you ask me!The main critical message I have gotten from each of these books is leave the sole alone...REALLY!...I've struggled with farriers over the years with this-as it LOOKS "NEATER" if the sole is "cleaned up", the frog is pared to a neat triangle and the walls are rasped???? Get used to "balanced, but perhaps a bit rough appearance. If the horses feet are such a mess from neglect or disease-please seek a qualified farrier and keep up the maintenance!

This book is an amazing resource for anyone who is interested in learning more about hoof trimming and general hoof care. Ramey uses wild horses (who have virtually no hoof problems) as an example of the ideal hoof, and explains how domestic horses should be trimmed to account for their domestication. He also takes into account that every hoof is different, and demonstrates how to read the hoof to trim it appropriately. There are tons of great pictures and case studies that are very helpful and cover a wide variety of situations and problems. While I feel like this book is definitely written in a way that most everyone can understand, I do believe it's important to have a basic understanding of hoof anatomy and trimming/shoeing practices to get the full benefit of reading it. I worked in the horse industry for about 10 years and have spent a lot of hours holding horses for various farriers (and watching and asking lots of questions), and I felt this book was very easy to understand and I learned a LOT from it. After reading it, I realized that what separates the farriers I've considered "good" vs. "bad" over the years has been the use of the techniques Ramey explains. The only farrier that's ever been able to keep my OTTB sound basically trims him exactly the way Ramey suggests! I am looking to learn more about hoof trimming so I can trim my own horses, and I think this book definitely got me off to a great start.

This is the best hoof care book I've ever read. It is both clear and persuasive.When I became a horse owner in 1997, one of the great mysteries to me was hoof care. Everybody I talked to and everything I read told me something different. It took me a while to find a farrier I trusted, and two years later he had to give up his practice due to heath issues.About that time I attended a Clinton Anderson seminar in which he devoted almost a whole session to natural hoof care. He sang the praises of Pete Ramey. So I bought Pete's book.I was looking for a better understanding of hoof care in general, but I was also hoping to learn enough to start doing my own trimming. This book was a great help with both. Now for the first time I feel like I can look at my horse's feet and have some confidence that either they look like they're supposed to or I know what to do to make them better.I've been doing my own trimming for over a year now. Here's some advice for anyone who hopes to do the same. Ramey's book is not a beginner's guide. He assumes you already own farrier tools, know how to use them, and that you know how to stand while you pick up a horse's hoof.My advice is to start with just a $20 hoof rasp and some kind of a stand. I put a short piece of 4" PVC pipe on a wooden base, but an automotive jackstand or a real hoof stand would be better. Read the book, watch your farrier closely, ask lots of questions, and start applying what you've learned.In the beginning you won't get much done. You'll gain new respect for the difficulty of a farrier's job as you fight your horse and become exhausted before you finish the first hoof. If your horse wants to move, I find it helpful to do what Clinton Anderson calls "touch and rub" (or porcupine game in Parelli language) - cheerfully lead the horse away from the trimming area and have him turn little circles for a while, then lead him back to the trimming area and give him the option to stand quietly. Smile and repeat as necessary. At some point he will get it. The more frequently you go through the motions of trimming, the quicker your horse will learn to cooperate. My horse will stand quietly now without being tied.Even if your horse is an angel you will still become rapidly exhausted because you will be asking muscles to do something they've never done. So don't wait until it's time for the next trim before you pull out your rasp for the first time. Ramey recommends that you trim every four weeks, but I try to keep to a weekly schedule. Do what you can, concentrating on eliminating flare and maintaining a nice rolled edge on the hooves.If you miss several weeks you'll find it hard to catch up with just the rasp, and a good hoof nipper will set you back $40-$90, so you might want to call your farrier back and start over until you're satisfied you'll be doing all your own trimming. I shared the book with a friend who does his own trimming and learned a lot in a hurry by working with him.If Ramey ever comes my way with a seminar I'll try to attend. There's no substitute for being able to watch, ask questions, and get your hands dirty. Meanwhile, the book is a great resource. I think every horse owner should read it.Edit, 12/24/2009I bought some Clinton Anderson DVDs on the Black Friday sale. One of them was RFD TV Downunder Horsemanship episode 127, "Natural Hoofcare With Pete Ramey." This 2007 one hour episode of Clinton's TV show features Pete Ramey doing natural trims on two horses, with commentary as he works. Ramey's book was written in 2000, and he's learned a lot in seven years. He has become much more conservative, removing less material initially, as experience has taught him that much of what he once achieved by carving comes naturally with time. The video retails for $19.99. If you really want to master natural trimming, buy Ramey's ten DVD set, "Under the Horse," a full 20 hours of instruction for $250. He has additional DVDs available at [...]. But if you can't afford a $250 set of DVDs, the Downunder Horsemanship episode is an extremely helpful supplement to the book.

I bought this at the advice of my hoof care professional to get more familiar with natural hoof care methods. The information is very solid but the photography is low quality, which makes it harder to understand. Also, parts of the book are very repetitive and yet it glosses over other key information. If you are new to doing your own barefoot hoof trimming, this book may frustrate you more than educate you. I'll keep looking for a more comprehensive guide.

Janette Oke has a way of creating characters that absolutely jump off the page and become alive. I have read several of her series and enjoyed each one. In this series, the Canadian West, she manages to show the fullness of life in the two main characters, Elizabeth and her husband Wynn. Wynn is a RCMP who is stationed way out north, in Indian territory, and cares deeply for the people and his job. Elizabeth is a city girl, who though deeply in love, doesn't know how hard it will be to adapt to such a different lifestyle and culture. The book chronicles their ups and downs, joys and struggles and helps you to appreciate God's plan for each of us in the process. These books are so wonderful and would be terrific to read as a family -although that is certainly not necessary.In a time when so much of what is written is full of despair, foul language and outright disregard for others, it is lovely to find something that is real and yet fills your heart and soul with joy.

I used to read Janette Oke a lot when I was younger so I decided to pick up this book in a moment of nostalgia. In a nutshell, this book is about the trial and tribulations of Elizabeth and Wynn while they endure the hardships of the rugged west.You don't have to have read the first two books in the series but it might be helpful. Some characters are mentioned in passing that will be unfamiliar if you haven't read the previous two books but it doesn't affect the present storyline much. Some books are a historical fiction with religious overtones; this particular book is a Christian novel that is historical fiction (if the difference makes sense). It's a simple/quick read and you find yourself really caring about the characters--all of them. There is heartache and sorrow along with joy and triumph.There is one small thing that really bugged me though. Elizabeth really struggled and she made mistakes but it frustrated me a bit that Wynn was so good. Wynn made all the right decisions and was the pillar for Elizabeth to lean on. He didn't argue, yell, or do anything crazy. He had the appropriate emotions at the appropriate times. He always remembered to trust in God and pray. It wasn't just a matter of a perfect/imperfect characters but it almost came across as "the man knows best," which rubbed me the wrong way. This didn't ruin the book for me in anyway and it was still a good book, but I'm not sure if I will finish the series because my irritation would only grow.Any detail will give something away so I will keep from spoiling this for someone else.

MY favorite books right now, I am obsessed with her works I cant wait to read new stories thank you for all these amazing voyages into the past with some true romance. I find that when sometimes too much is going on reading Janette books transports me and makes ,me truly happy.

Janette Oke continues to bring us the story of Wynn and Elizabeth. We see Elizabeth's character developing more and continuing to mature. The references to Scripture are welcome additions to the text. The adventures this village, Wynn and Elizabeth included, have given pleasure, pain, and humility to the reader. I can't wait to see what's in store for Wynn and Elizabeth next!

A very well written book. The writer helps you feel as if you are right there... whether it's a snow storm or a warm summer day... with just a little imagination, you can almost feel you are there.

I Liked this book because it tells how a young couple was able to face some of life's difficult challenges because they believed in the almighty and always respected each other. They cherished each moment that they spent together and served the people of their village that were less fortunate than they were. They were never selfish in their daily living activities, thereby gaining the respect of the community in which they resided.

Love this book! As I did all those before it. It was interesting to go through the daily experiences Elizabeth had with the natives of the area. And especially keeping God in the story.

Love this author and her writing. Wynn and Elizabeth are such a great couple and the battle with infertility is one so many women go through.

Martin Niemöller has been covered up by the heroic story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer even though for more than a decade after WW2 Americans saw Niemöller as the hero. His story has been told by Matthew Hockenos in Then They Came For Me.This is unswervingly honest story about a man who was far from perfect but who grew to have his heart in the right place. This is not a hagiography but a straight shooting story by a noble historian. Some have laundered Niemöller's story; not so Hockenos.While I have known of Niemöller for years, even decades, I've not read anything about him this extensively and this book brings out the stories of his wife, Else, and the children and the suffering the family went through in WW2 and after. What I perhaps most liked about this book was opening up the realities of German pastors and the German church situation after the war. What most seemed to be doing was covering up their own complicity, and this may be where Niemöller was most heroic: he admitted complicity and called German pastors, German churches, and Germans to confess their guilt.Niemöller's story is not pure: he was drawn into pastoring after a military career in WW1 (a proud U boat officer); he was a German nationalist; he was bitter about the Versailles Treaty's treatment of Germans; as a pastor he supported the National Socialists though never officially joined the Nazi Party; he voted for Hitler two times; he originally did not defend Jews as Jews but only Jewish Christians; he eventually exaggerated dimensions of his and the church's opposition to Hitler; he only slowly saw his own anti-Semitism.Yet, following his military service he became a pastor with unusual passion; he defied Hitler's crossing the line between church and state; he defied the "German Christian" movement with its blending of church and state in blasphemous ways; he was arrested by Hitler for opposing Hitler's imposition in the church; he was released from prison only to become Hitler's personal prisoner -- in Sachsenhausen and then Dachau; he was imprisoned most of a decade.Throughout his struggle in Germany he was mostly aligned with Karl Barth, and this snippet from many years later illustrates the activist, passionate approach of Niemöller over against the sophisticated, activist, intellectual approach of Barth:The two enjoyed kidding each other, especially over their respective approaches to theology. Barth once told a mutual friend that Niemöller should put his theology on a boat, sail it out to sea, and sink it. Niemöller gave as good as he got, telling a biographer, "I have never cherished theologians. Take Karl Barth, my dearest friend. All his volumes are standing there. I have never read any of them. I never heard a lecture by him. Theologians are here only to make incomprehensible what a child can understand." At Niemöller's sixtieth birthday celebration, after decades of friendship despite periods of great strife between them, Barth joked:Not so long ago, a conversation between Martin Niemöller and myself went like this. "Martin, I'm surprised that you almost always get the point despite the little systematic theology that you've done!" "Karl, I'm surprised that you almost always get the point despite the great deal of systematic theology that you've done!"The Confessing Church was run by Niemöller but its theology was Barth's.The tension between Hitler's German Christians and the Confessing Church (and not all here were alike, as some were much more amenable to Hitler than others), and this story expresses that tension:The parish of Schöneberg in central Berlin was the site of one such duel. One Sunday a conflict arose between opposing pastors and their flocks over which group had the right to use the church. Both sides claimed possession by occupying strategic areas of the building. The German Christian pastor, Gerhard Peters, stood in front of the altar as his supporters arrayed themselves in the front pews. The opposition pastor, Eitel-Friedrich von Rabenau, held the pulpit while his followers piled into the rear pews. From the loft, a trombone choir accompanied opposition parishioners singing Advent hymns; from the same location, with gusto, the organist accompanied the German Christians singing "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." When the musical confrontation died down, Rabenau tried to preach from the pulpit, while Peters recited the liturgy from the altar. Cries of "We want to hear Rabenau's sermon!" and 'Peters is abusing the word of God!" were heard. The row lasted two long hours, with parishioners nearly coming to blows. Eventually Rabenau conceded the church to the German Christians and left the building with his following (91).While in prison he became an American Christian pet project and America's saw him as a personal agenda -- get him released and he will become the heroic model of the Christian persecuted under Hitler.But upon release from prison at the end of WW2 it was obvious Niemöller remained a German nationalist, and the stories of the heroic Niemöller were dealt a deep blow.Insisting that most Germans were ignorant of the scale of Nazi atrocities and shocked by what they saw when the Allies liberated the concentration and extermination camps, he asserted, "You are mistaken if you think any honest person in Germany will feel personally responsible for things like Dachau, Belsen, and Buchenwald. He will feel only misled into believing in a regime that was led by criminals and murderers."He came to America under opposition as the first German to be given a visa -- he spent the time defending himself, defending the suffering of the German people who were being oppressed by American denazification policies, and he raised lots of money for suffering Germans. But he never convinced many of his integrity; he was always a big question mark for many.But Niemöller's story is the story of a man who changed his mind and nothing is clearer in Hockenos' wonderful book: over and over he took a passionate view, experienced opposition, and slowly changed his mind. His first instincts to major situations were too nationalistic, too German, too undemocratic, and too unChristian. Yet, the man changed his mind over and over.He was the first to speak publicly from the German pastoral community in terms and tones of confession; that the German people bore guilt; that the pastors did not speak against Hitler enough or clearly enough or often enough.While fighting denazification he started to open his mind on demilitarization of Germany (which cut against the grain of Germany's renewed fears of Stalinist Russia); he saw good in the churches of Russia; he began to fight for peace in Gandhian terms; he gradually became a pacifist; and he eventually became a thorough-going progressive for peace in all categories. Yet, he was blind to dimensions of racism, like white privilege, and yet grew and worked against his prejudices.Some people, not that many and Bonhoeffer was one, have clarity of mind into deep socio-political and theologically-informed issues -- like Nazis, like war, like racism, like militarization -- early and stay the course. Far more are like Niemöller who have to learn and grow and change their mind. Speaking of Bonhoeffer, how about this little-known fact?When Niemöller wasn't writing letters, worrying about church business, or preparing his defense for the upcoming trial, he took advantage of solitary confinement to read books, many in English, including Thomas Macaulay's multivolume History of England. He twice waded through the New Testament in Greek, perhaps reviving fond memories of his gymnasium days and reading Greek poetry for fun. He received a copy of Bonhoeffer s now-famous text Discipleship with an inscription from his colleague: "To Pastor Martin Niemöller at Advent 1937 in brotherly thanks. A book that he himself could have written better than the author."Niemöller's life is a paradigm of socio-ethical sanctification. Any reading of this book will help pastors especially to become more patient with themselves and with others, and perhaps encourage them to tell their own stories honestly -- stories of growth and changing course.Though Niemöller may never have composed these lines himself he used most of them if not all of them. Hence, they are both his and attributed to him -- and the evidence is not clear. They are, however, brilliant:First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a Communist.Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a Trade Unionist.Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a Jew.Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.When most think of Germany and WW2 and the church and the pastors, they think of Bonhoeffer. But for a decade or more after WW2, Niemöller was the story. It is time for his story to be more known to day.

This is a powerful story of a man who grew beyond himself, and who was far more complex than the usual presentation of him. We tend to think of Niemoeller as a courageous hero who stood up to Hitler. And he did -- to protect the church. But he voted for the Nazis, and even in prison told them he'd be willing to serve in their Navy. As the poem attributed to him (and dated to 1946) notes, he was silent about the Nazi's treatment of socialists, unionists, and Jews--because he shared conservative German views. But he gradually grew into a man who rejected antisemitism, and his militaristic views, and became a noted pacifist.

I liked the end. It had the potential of being sappy...but it wasn't.Listen, I like Dugoni. I've read several of his books, to include the 5 book Tracy Crosswhite series. "Bodily Harm" is not in the same vein, quality wise, as the Crosswhite series. It just isn't. The story line is difficult to follow in places. Some of that difficulty is due to flash backs, which, I will admit is set off by italics, so we know when that is taking place. In another respect, there were times when I just didn't know who was talking. There were scene changes that at times were confusing, given what was going on otherwise at the time.. I also think that some of the dialogue was unnecessary to further the story line.I don't retell story lines in my reviews, but have to say the overall read was "wordy" in places.I thought the plot was relevant and was well developed. The characters were fleshed out, both protagonists and antagonists There was certainly rising action, falling action and a resolution, which as I say above came dangerously close to being "sappy" but Dugoni cleaned it up in the end, which was good.Again, I liked the book, as I do like this writer's style in the way he tells a story. But must confess that Tracy Crosswhite is his bench mark in writing, not this read.

I have read, so far, all of Mr. Dugoni's books. While it's hard to choose which series I like best, I can honestly say that this one is the best. It made me cry, which I never have done while reading a book. It also made me believe that we still have good, unselfish people in the world. In today's world, we need to remember that more than ever. Thank you for the book and the story about your Dad.

The first two David Sloan books were excellent. Bodily Harm was even better. (I read Murder One first and it's the best!) Bodily Harm will break your heart in many ways, in the story about the children who died, the others who died who tried to do the right thing, and David's personal tragedy. It has its uplifting message as well. Sloan's partnership/friendship with Charles Jenkins is particularly touching given David's personality and his tendency to keep people at arms length. These are smart, capable men who go to any length to get at the truth. This is a smooth thriller that is well written and moves along with action and suspense on every page. The character development, particularly of Sloan and Jenkins, is excellent. Bodily Harm is a wonderful novel - you'll love it!!!

Mr. Dugoni takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that lasts long after you read the last word on the last page. David Sloane and Charles Jenkins meet the one adversary who just may be able to take them both down. There is so much to this novel, action, courtroom drama, greed and kindness, evil...but mostly love. It may seem a strange thing to say about a book so packed with action and intrigue, but read this book and then try to tell me I'm wrong.

This is the third installment of Robert Dugoni's series featuring David Sloane, a Seattle attorney, who has a reputation for never losing a civil case.When we last read about David, he had finally found the love of his life and was about to adopt her 13 year old son, Jake. They lived in a great house and life was good, and it looked like it would get even better.As the book opens, David is about to go into the courtroom to hear the verdict of his current medical malpractice case against a pediatrician that he believed to be responsible for the unnecessary death of a six year old. Before David can open the doors, a young man comes up to him and tells him that the doctor was NOT the reason the child died.This seemingly delusional information caused David some discomfort, and yet he had to continue to the end of this case, despite his misgivings, and ended up with a favorable verdict.The thing that blows this whole thing up in the water for David is that he finds out that another child died with the same symptoms, and David chooses to investigate matters further.Enter Kendall Toys. A toy mfg that has been around for almost 100 years, and unbeknownst to the general public and Board, has turned to China to manufacture the next great toy since Elmo. The lengths to which the owners cover up potentially damanging information is beyond belief. And yet, David keeps pursuing them, to find out the truth about this children's deaths, and to prevent any future harm to innocent children.This story is a bit short on the trademark courtroom scenes that I have come to like about Dugoni's stories, and some of the action and characters are a bit too cliched. There are some very powerful and emotional parts to the story that make up for some of this, but not all. Dugoni's portrayal of Sloane's pursuit of the villains is a bit silly and he knocks off characters as if they were cut-outs in a shooting gallery.I did enjoy the fictional inside workings of a toy mfg and got a bit creeped out thinking about all the recent recalls for the toys that were made in China. Like most of us, I have children and grandchildren and can't even keep up with all the latest recalls.Overall, I felt this book was a good read, and while some of the characters were not believable, this story had a lot about it that made it interesting and entertaining.

I started out reading the Tracy Crosswise mysteries and really enjoyed them. Then I found the David Sloan mysteries, and am enjoying them as well. Unfortunately, I read them out of order, not realizing that "Conviction" was not the first. I'm now reading book 4 in the series. Looking forward to more of Robert Dugoni's books.

I found it difficult to read and not entertaining. This was due to the way the childen in the book were treated and exploited. I did finish it but found the ending "wrap up" was a little unbelievable.

Enjoyable read. Somehow I missed all other books in this series and started with this one. I can't complain though because it still worked quite well. This book didn't suffer at all by missing the previous books. I'm sure my experience would have been a little better had I read the previous releases but there isn't much I can do about that now.I can't recommend this book enough. Even though the ending went a little different than I was hoping, it was still satisfying and worked quite well. Thanks to the author for providing this story.

This book will screw you up if you're just starting out in economics, PARTICULARLY if you have little calculus skill. Like one review said, this is an introductory text with intermediate problems. I couldn't finish this book before writing a review, because, as I go wrap up chapter 9, I can't help but note the poor presentation of dead-weight loss and gains/loss in consumer and producer surplus as well as the effect of welfare.The fact is that they try to avoid calculus, and that's well and fine (graphical problems can pretty easily be explained with algebra as the presentations generally deal with linear sloping curves). However, the problem is the amount of fluff in this material (most of the time the authors are redundant); that is, most of the 40-50 page chapters can be summarized in 20 or less and actually be much more explanatory of the problems at hand.Once you get to the MyEconLab assignments, my God watch out. These things are nothing like the stuff presented in the chapters--sure there's a simple direct question from time to time, but the problems that require working through solutions generally use terminology that isn't even present in the chapter. The exercises of chapter 9 have been the epitome of this. As well, the given answers to solve the problems in MyEconLab aren't even using the same terminology of the chapters...it's as if these problems are a whole new section within the given chapter instead of expounding upon them. Oh, as well, the Chapter 9 problems are so hair-trigger sensitive to answers that even if you are close by a few pennies, you'll miss the problem....what's worse is that the same problem will have an answer that clearly used rounded inputs and the final answers wouldn't. It's absolutely ludicrous.This review is coming from a mathematics major and a financial analyst; there are much better books.

As a first-time Econ student in an MBA program with no prior exposure to the field, this book was a great crash course in the fundamentals. Our class was very old-school, lecture-style, and math-heavy, so the real-world examples and sidebars were immensely helpful for understanding and applying abstract concepts. The authors have also done a nice job keeping the stories and examples current and tangible, so we're not constantly rehashing the same agricultural commodity trade scenarios. If you're looking for a text that emphasizes the math, this probably isn't your best bet, but if you're looking to understand the concepts and get to know the field, this does the job well. I really didn't enjoy my class sessions, but I was able to read multiple chapters of this text in a sitting and get value and enjoyment out of it.

Although this book has plenty of examples and descriptions suitable for any undergraduate level microeconomics course, I personally struggled with the lack of math in the book. For the most part, the book lacks any mention of calculus at all, which is essential when discussing something like elasticity or optimization. When it does appear, subjects like partial derivatives or Laplace transforms are relegated to a short addendum at the end of the chapter, glossed over in a fashion that would make it difficult for anyone but math majors to understand what the author is talking about.

A confusing read full of acronyms and graphs. The theories are among a lot of superfluous text that never seems to sort itself out. I later purchased "Economics, 5th Ed" from Barron's by Walter Wessels and it explained almost every topic in "Microeconomics" with greater clarity and less text.

I have used this text -- Pindyck/Rubenfeld -- at the professional/graduate school level (that is, not PhD track in economics, but to provide the econ foundation to public policy and work of that sort).It's an excellent, thorough text. The writing is not as engaging as Mankiw and Pindyck is more math-intensive (which I think is a good thing). Pindyck is, I think, more thorough than Mankiw. And Mankiw's characterization of a number of issues is conservative.By contrast, Pindyck/Rubenfeld is far better balanced and far more rigorous.The catch with the Kindle edition is that nearly all of the great layout and typesetting of the print edition is gone. Simple things like paragraph indents are gone, making straight reading more difficult. Type treatment (head/subhead, sans-serif, serif) is mostly gone. Color treatments to aid navigation of the text is gone.So why does the Kindle edition cost $90 when the full print edition costs $135? 67% of the cost for 45% of the quality? $90 is a lot to spend just for the convenience of not carrying a large physical book. There are points where the absence of the print edition's formatting several hampers reading and clarity. Why? File size? And the fact that the Kindle is black and white?

This book is abysmal. It does not explain or provide the mathmatical formulas that you need to solve any of the problems. It is a intro level microeconomics book with intermediate microeconomics problems AND NONE OF THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO SOLVE INTERMEDIATE PROBLEMS.This is useless. The person who wrote this book should be ashamed. For the price, it should contain ALL the formulas that you need to solve the problems. It should also have practice problems WITH SOLUTIONS for every other problem, so that students can see how problems are supposed to be solved before working on practice problems that lazy teachers assign as homework.

This "book" is 33 pages of general rambling about commonly known subjects like it is important to have a brand idea, or to use a decent theme, to use a mission statement, use relevant images, etc. There is not a single diagram or image in the book, there is zero information on Wordpress itself, or how to use it, and no information at all on the items described in the book's tagline ("Simple, Effective and Advanced Strategies to Build a Beautiful Wordpress Website"). This is the single most worthless item I have ever purchased ... on Amazon or elsewhere ... and I can't imagine why someone would go through the effort to pretend that this is at all useful for learning Wordpress. It literally has zero information on Wordpress or how to use it ... none! Complete waste of money.

I choosed this rating for the book because it guides from very beginning, to set up and selecting themes and maintain content also tips about content how to write it in excellent way. Managing wordpress is not that difficult for me now.What I don't like about this book is that it is short book, I wish if it could be more detailed as I learned easily basic things and now wanted to learn it on advance level too.

I thought the book would show me how to download pictures and make changes in my website. Instead, they just gave me ideas about what I should say or write. I already knew what I wanted to say. I needed technical help. It wasn't there.

It's an incredibly brief overview of incredibly basic website advice. Very little that is definitive or illuminating. When it mentions at one point that a Favicon should be a 512x512 pixel square, it felt startling to get a piece of concrete advice. But there was nothing to follow that.

This very short book (33 pages) is much more about the basics of getting started on a business than on Wordpress

This is a 5 star read because it gives great advice on getting started with Wordpress. It explains the importance of key components to building a website on WordPress.

This book does not give any useful information for beginners. This book is so small that I read it in 5 min. Don't buy if you are looking for a Wordpress book for beginners or for any level.

Don't waste your time. This book has nothing to do with WordPress. Just a basic start-up book compiled from what the writer has read should be entitle "How to Start a Business". I don't know this book got its reviews.
